Other: So many bands today are content to sacrifice creativity and integrity in order to be assimilated and accepted into whatever trend, wheather it be hardcore, emo, etc. that is currently the 'cool' thing to do. In the process, they do a great disservice to us all by watering down the local scene with more mind-numbingly unoriginal crap. They weaken an already srtruggling scene that is mired down by over-inflated egos, cutthroat mentalities and factionalization that has spawned a whole new set of terms used to dissect and classify. When did metal stop being just metal? All of a sudden, theres Nu Metal, and Hardcore, and post-hardcore, and thrash metal, and varius other monikers which serve to destroy any sense of unity which used to be felt in the metal scene. I'd much rather be in a band that finds its own voice and carves its own niche in the local scene, than a band that settles for being a carbon copy of what is popular.
